Go Inside the World of 3D Printing with Netflix’s ‘Print the Legend’ (Trailer)
Earlier this year, Netflix acquired the rights to “Print the Legend,” a documentary about the domestic 3D printing industry, in order to stream it as a “Netflix Original” as part of its evolving documentary film slate.
Set to debut on the streaming service later this year, here’s the first trailer for the film, which won the Special Jury Recognition Award for Editing and Storytelling at SXSW 2014:
Directed, shot, and edited by Luis Lopez and Clay Tweel (“The King of Kong”), “Print the Legend” focuses on how the field of 3D printing could revolutionize how humans interact with the world by going behind the scenes and chronicling leading companies in the field, including MakerBot, Stratasys, and 3D Systems.
The film was developed, produced, and financed by Chad Troutwine (“Freakonomics”) at Audax Films, and led by co-producer Andrew Kortschak and executive producer Walter Kortschak. Dan O’Meara also produced, with Exhibit A Films’ Seth Gordon (Netflix’s “Mitt”) producing and Mary Rohlich (“Make Believe”) executive producing.Tags: 3D Printing, Audax Films, Documentary Film, Exhibit A Films, Netflix, Netflix Original, Print the Legend, Seth Gordon, SXSW, The King of Kong
