Google Glass Short Brings You to Front Seat of First Date
Filming on Google Glass presents the unique opportunity to act while filming. Filmmakers Boonsri Dickinson and Daniel Feighery used this technology to their advantage in the making of a short film called “Friday Night Is Date Night,” which explores the viewpoints of a first date from a male and female perspective, based on what happened earlier that very evening of filming in the filmmakers’ own lives.
In the film, Feighery poses as the guy who initiates what he believes is a date, while Dickinson, his female counterpart, has a different idea of their evening plans. Running for just over three minutes, the short leaves you waiting for episode two, which digs deeper into Dickinson’s character’s perspective.
“As a journalist, I have always loved telling stories in first person, so in that sense, Google Glass is my pen and video is my paper,” Dickinson said of the medium. She has written for publications like Wired, Forbes, and Business Insider and has been recognized by TechCrunch and Scientific American for her work with digital technologies. Feighery boasts his own claims to fame, with footage of his appearing in music videos for the likes of Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and David Bowie.Tags: Boonsri Dickinson, Daniel Feighery, Google Glass, original digital content, youtube
