GQ’s ‘Jogging with James’ Sprints into Mini-Series

/ Jul 17, 2013

“Jogging with James” is a series on Conde Nast Entertainment’s GQ channel that chronicles adventurer/crazy-man James Marshall’s attempt to train for the Marathon de Sable, more commonly known as “the toughest footrace in the world.” It also doubles as an interview series, as Marshall chats with various celebrities while jogging and training for the race, which requires runners to complete six marathons (140 miles) in five days across the Sahara Desert (in 130-degree heat).

So far, “Jogging with James” has published four episodes, featuring interviews with the likes of actress Melissa George (“Hunted”), actor Lee Pace (“Lincoln”), photographer Nigel Barker (“America’s Next Top Model”), and NFL linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo.

Now it’s time to show what happened during the actual race, which took place last April. In a three-part mini-series, “Jogging with James” will document how Marshall fared during those five days in the Sahara. The first video was published today. GQ will publish the remaining two on July 24 and July 31.

The series was originally unveiled as part of GQ’s launch slate in March, and later renewed by CNE during the company’s Newfront presentation in early May.
