Hannah Hart Selected by Vice to Host YouTube Music Awards Pre-Show
With the YouTube Music Awards scheduled for this Sunday night, YouTube creator Hannah Hart has been chosen by Vice and YouTube to serve as the official pre-show host.
According to sources familiar with the event, Hart is currently in New York interviewing the nominees in preparation for the show. The interviews, along with clips of the musicians, will be curated together by director Spike Jonze and presented one hour before the award show airs in a documentary format. As announced earlier this month, Jonze is the creative director of the actual award show.
Co-producer Vice Media chose Hart specifically to be a “representative of the YouTube community.” In the award show, which many have criticised for focusing too heavily on mainstream musicians over YouTube creators, Hart is a welcome addition as both a platform artist and representative.
Hart kicked off her pre-anchor interviews yesterday with chart-topper Miley Cyrus. The YouTube Music Awards will stream from New York City on Sunday, November 3.Tags: CDS, Hannah Hart, youtube, YouTube Music Awards, YTMA
