Harley Morenstein Cast in Kevin Smith’s New Horror Movie
There’s an old proverb that goes like this: “When two bearded fellows get together, amazing things happen.” Okay, that’s actually not a proverb, but in the case of Kevin Smith’s latest film project, “Tusk,” it just might prove to be accurate.
Earlier this week, “Epic Meal Time” creator and beard aficionado Harley Morenstein released a Vine video from the set of Smith’s new horror/comedy film. Morenstein has since confirmed that he will be playing a role in the film. Based on the Vine video and images take from the set, it seems that the “EMT” host will be playing a police officer.
Smith and Morenstein collaborated together earlier this year on an episode of “EMT” titled “The Burly Beaver Sandwich.” Canadians sure do love Kevin Smith.
“Tusk” is based off of an episode of Smith’s podcast in which the filmmaker discussed a Gumtree ad offering free room and board to anyone willing to dress in a walrus costume. Smith and longtime producer Scott Mosier spun the idea into a horrific nightmare scenario in which someone responds to the ad only to be literally sewn into a walrus costume. “Tusk” will allegedly follows those events.
The film, which is slated for release in 2014, will also star Michael Parks, Justin Long, Genesis Rodriquez , and Haley Joel Osment.
