Harley Morenstein, Rob Riggle Join Cast of Legendary’s ‘Dead Rising’
Legendary’s upcoming digital film, “Dead Rising: Watchtower,” has added Rob Riggle (“Let’s Be Cops”), Harley Morenstein (“Epic Meal Time”), Keegan Connor Tracy (“Bates Motel”), and Aleks Paunovic (“This Means War”) to its cast.
The quartet join previously announced cast members Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, Virginia Madsen, and Dennis Haysbert on the project, which is currently in production.
Based on Capcom’s hit gaming franchise, the film takes place during a large-scale zombie outbreak. When a mandatory government vaccine fails to stop the infection from spreading, the four leads must evade the infected while also pursuing the root of the epidemic.
Riggle will play Frank West, described as a weathered photojournalist who’s skilled in surviving zombie attacks. Morenstein, who continues to build his name beyond YouTube circles, will play Pyro, a menacing biker. His character is second in command to Paunovic’s character, Logan, a hard criminal and head of a dangerous biker gang. Tracy will take on the role of straight-laced journalist Jordan.
“Dead Rising: Watchtower” is written by Tim Carter, who is also producing with Tomas Harlan under their Contradiction Films banner. Contradiction most recently produced “Mortal Kombat: Legacy.” Lorenzo di Bonaventura (“Transformers”) is executive producing.
The film will debut on Crackle in the US. After Crackle’s exclusive run, it will expand to other SVOD, DVD, VOD, and TV outlets. Content Media Corp. is handling international distribution of the film in both its feature-length and episodic formats.Tags: Capcom, Casting, Content Media Corporation, Crackle, Digital Feature Film, epic meal time, Harley Morenstein, legendary digital media, Legendary Entertainment, Rob Riggle
