Hulu May Feature Judd Apatow Original Series Called ‘Love’
Hulu may have declined to revive “Community” for its sixth season, but it might just take on one of the show’s stars. The streaming service is apparently talking to Judd Apatow now about a new romantic, comedic series starring “Community’s” own Gillian Jacobs.
Though Hulu has yet to officially comment, the talks between the platform and Apatow have become reportedly serious, with a pilot script already written. The show, titled “Love,” will follow characters navigating relationships, focusing on one couple in particular.
Co-writers of the pilot (along with Apatow) include Lesley Arfin of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and Paul Rust, also an actor who may star in the series, as well.
Even though Hulu has yet to officially add Apatow’s “Love” to its programming slate, the new series would mark a big step for the streaming service. A high-profile name like Apatow’s joining the platform would put it up there with the likes of Netflix when it comes to solid, original programming.
Apatow is also responsible for formerly aired series “Undeclared” and “Freaks and Geeks.” His recent work on the series “Girls” garnered lots of attention and also featured Jacobs as a guest star on the fourth season.Tags: Community, Freaks and Geeks, Gillian Jacobs, Girls, Hulu, hulu original series, judd apatow, lesley arfin, love, paul rust, undeclared, web series
