IAB names board of directors for R&D center for digital video

The Interactive Advertising Bureau has named its first board of directors for the IAB Digital Video Center of Excellence, a division dedicated to researching and developing web video.

The new board will include executives from TV brands like CNN and ABC, digital video platforms like Hulu, YouTube, Facebook, and Machinima, and publishers such as The New York Times and Condé Nast. You can see the full list below:

The head of the board comes from Hulu. SVP of ad sales at the streaming video company Peter Naylor will lead the IAB Digital Video Center of Excellence board of directors and played a big role in recruiting the above members.

“Our goal is to make and execute on decisions that will ultimately help marketers grow their businesses through digital video advertising and marketing,” Naylor described in a statement. “This group of leaders will provide the types of insights and guidance that will help us successfully navigate the current cross-screen landscape.”

Though the Digital Video Center of Excellence is based in New York City, the board will work across 43 IABs located in regions spanning Europe, Asia, North and Latin America, and Africa with an aim growing digital video internationally. The center includes a new IAB Tech Lab, which will help form technical standards and solutions for digital video, and has a relationship with Washington DC’s public policy office through which it will advocate for the growth of the medium.

The IAB Digital Video Center of Excellence was created in November 2014.
