IAWTV Opens Submissions for 2014 Awards Show
The International Academy of Web Television has opened the submission process for its annual awards show, which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas in on January 7, 2014. The awards program looks to honor the best web-original programming across the web, as well as the creators and executives behind the content.
As we previously reported, the 2014 IAWTV Awards will take place during New Media Expo, a conference and tradeshow for bloggers, podcasters, video producers, and other digital media professionals. NMX generally precedes the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas, which played host to the first two IAWTV Awards.
Per that deal, NMX is providing operational and promotional support for the awards show, and will co-produce both the show and its red carpet event. In addition, the deal covers a “web TV” conference track during 2014 NMX.
The IAWTV Awards are voted on by the non-profit organization’s membership, which consists of digital entertainment professionals ranging from writers and actors to distributors. They will select the winners of 35 different categories, including two new ones that have been added for the 2014 show: Best New Series and Best Returning Series.
Past IAWTV Awards winners have included Julia Stiles (“Blue”), Grace Helbig (“Daily Grace”), Phil DeFranco (“The Philip DeFranco Show”), and Felicia Day (“The Guild”).
