Jim Louderback Exits Discovery Digital Networks
Jim Louderback, long-time CEO of Revision3 and most recently the general manager of Discovery Digital Networks, has left the company.
Announcing the exit on his own blog, Louderback said he wants to spend more time doing “nothing” — as well as write a book for “first-time CEOs, detailing all of the dumb things I did as a way to help them avoid the same mistakes.”
“It’s been a great run, both personally and professionally. I’ve had the good fortune to work with a tremendously talented group of investors, employees, and executives, and learned a lot about building companies, raising capital, successful exits and how to integrate a startup into a large corporation,” Louderback said in the post.
Louderback’s exit comes seven years after leading Revision3 and Discovery Digital Networks, which was created after Discovery acquired Revision3 in 2012. While at DDN, Louderback helped expand the division beyond the Revision3 network by launching Animalist and TestTube, and acquiring Phil DeFranco’s production company and YouTube channels.
With his exit, Colin Decker, SVP and group operating officer at Discovery Digital Networks, will lead the division.Tags: Colin Decker, Discovery Communications, Discovery Digital Networks, Jim Louderback, revision3
