Joe Bereta to Leave ‘SourceFed’ for Defy Media
Joe Bereta, one of the original hosts for “SourceFed,” a news and pop-culture show launched by YouTube star Phil DeFranco in 2012, is leaving. The on-air host is joining Defy Media as a creative director.
In the role, he will create new shows for the company across all of their media properties, and also work closely with the Smosh duo on “exciting new comedy projects.”
Bereta made the announcement via a post on his blog: “After much deliberation, advice seeking, and a drug-induced vision quest in which I befriended a sassy, yet insightful box turtle, I arrived at the conclusion that it was time to move forward and seek new challenges and opportunities,” he said. “I am EXTREMELY proud of everything we’ve accomplished here on the SourceFed channel and I am overflowing with warmth for all of my co-workers and all of the gracious viewers kind enough to watch our videos.”
There has been a significant change to the on-air cast for “SourceFed” since the beginning of the year. Elliott Morgan and Meg Turney also left in 2014.Tags: Defy Media, Exec Moves, Joe Bereta, Movers, News, Phil Defranco, SourceFed, YouTube Creators
