Jukin Media Breaks into comScore’s YouTube Top 10
Jukin Media, the digital media company that’s primarily known for licensing popular user-generated YouTube clips to brands and media companies, is now a top YouTube partner — according to comScore. In the measurement firm’s latest monthly video charts, Jukin Media’s multi-channel network slid into the top 10 YouTube partner channel rankings for the first time, with more than 13 million unique viewers in April.
A lot of that growth can probably ascribed to Jukin’s very popular Fail Army YouTube channel, which recently climbed past 5 million subscribers on the world’s biggest video site.
In total, Jukin’s network generated more than 24.6 million views, according to comScore. That equals out to 1.9 videos watched per viewer, which is the lowest rating among the comScore YouTube top 20.*
That shouldn’t come as a surprise, though. Jukin’s business is user-generated viral clips, which are driven by social sharing and aren’t generally the best at viewer retention.
The rest of comScore’s YouTube top 10 was a list of the Usual Suspects: Vevo leading the way with nearly 35.8 million unique monthly viewers and more than 5 million daily uniques, followed by Fullscreen (25.6 million monthly / 3.9 million daily), Zefr (24.5 million / 1.9 million), Maker Studios (24.4 million / 4.2 million), and Warner Music (23.6 million / 2.2 million).
Jukin Media recently closed a $1 million investment round — its first — from a group of investors that included Maker Studios and Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments.
