Keith David, Paget Brewster Join Cast of ‘Community’ Season 6
Keith David and Paget Brewster have been added to the cast of “Community,” the critically acclaimed comedy picked up by Yahoo for a sixth season after five seasons on NBC.
Brewster (“Criminal Minds”) will play Francesca “Frankie” Dart, a consultant brought in to help whip the school into shape. David (“Enlisted”) will take on the role of Elroy Patashnik, a retired scient seeking to reinvent himself.
David and Brewster will join a cast anchored by Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, and Alison Brie. Series regulars Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover are not expected to return — Glover left the show midway through its fifth season. Jonathan Banks and John Oliver, who had recurring roles during the show’s fifth season, are also unlikely to return. The actors are currently preoccupied by their commitments to “Better Call Saul” and “Last Week Tonight,” respectively.
Yahoo also announced that production will begin on the sixth season in Los Angeles on November 17. Spanning 13 episodes, the new installment of “Community” is expected to launch on Yahoo in early 2015.
Created by Dan Harmon, “Community” is produced by Krasnoff-Foster Entertainment and Harmonius Claptrap, in association with Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television.Tags: comedy, Community, Dan Harmon, half-hour, Keith David, Paget Brewster, Series Casting
