Kennedy Center Hosts ‘YouTube OnStage Live,’ Featuring Lindsey Stirling and John Legend (Video)
YouTube is going to the nation’s capital tonight.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is set to host “YouTube OnStage Live,” a live concert special headlined by Grammy Award winner John Legend and YouTube Music Award-winning violinist Lindsey Stirling.
With NBC and Red Bull Media House correspondent Sal Masekela serving as host, the event is described as a celebration of “music and the arts at the nexus of entertainment and technology.”
It kicks off at 7:30pm ET, live-streamed for those not attending via the Kennedy Center’s YouTube channel (also embedded below).
In addition to Stirling and Legend, who curated the concert lineup, the event will feature performances from French hip-hop dance duo Les Twins (who also played at YouTube’s Brandcast event in New York last month), music movement Playing for Change, Scott Bradlee & Postmodern Jukebox, and video mash-up specialist DJ Mike Relm. A special tribute is also planned for Zach Sobiech, whose song “Clouds,” created after he learned he only had a few months to live, went viral on YouTube.
Individual performances, in addition to the full concert, will be available on-demand on the Kennedy Center’s YouTube channel after the conclusion of the live stream.
