Kingsley and ClevverTV to Hold Pop-Culture Court with ‘Drama King’

Kingsley Drama King

Defy Media’s ClevverTV is launching a new series in partnership with YouTube star Kingsley.

“Drama King” centers on Kingsley as host, holding “court” in his personal party room to answer viewer problems and interview other notable YouTube personalities. For instance, the first episode features a guest appearance from Grace Helbig. Future episodes will welcome stars such as Lilly Singh (better known as: Superwoman), Shane Dawson, Anthony Padilla (Smosh), Kalel Cullen, and Flula Borg.

New episodes will roll out on a weekly basis, publishing to the ClevverTV channel on YouTube at 3pm every Thursday.

For ClevverTV, the series comes at a time when the entertainment-news brand is planning to expand into more premium content, with a focus on top online personalities. On YouTube, the Clevver brand spans six YouTube channels, collectively reaching more than 3.8 subscribers and 3.3 million unique viewers (per comScore).

Kingsley, a pop-culture commentator on YouTube with nearly 3 million subscribers, is a member of Defy Media’s Creators Program, which was launched earlier this year to help leading YouTube personalities expand their presence across formats and platforms.

As part of the program, Kingsley himself will be launching two other shows on his personal channel next week: “Inquisitive with Kingsley” and “Really B Really,” which is a returning program.
