Krysten Ritter has been cast in title role for Marvel’s “Jessica Jones” TV series, which the studio is producing for Netflix.
The actress, repped by WME, is known for her roles in “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23” and “Breaking Bad.” Her character is an ex-superhero suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder who decides to hang up her costume and open up a detective agency. She helps other superheroes in the Marvel universe.
“Jessica Jones,” which is being overseen by Melissa Rosenberg (“Twilight”), is one of five Marvel series coming to Netflix in the future. Other shows ordered by the streaming company include “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage,” and “Iron Fist.” These four shows, each spanning 13 episodes, will then culminate in a mini-series event called “The Defenders.”Tags: Casting, Jessica Jones, Krysten Ritter, Marvel, Netflix, netflix originals
