‘Long Story, Short’ to Premiere on Koldcast TV on August 19
“Long Story, Short,” a romantic comedy created and written by actress Katie Boland (“The Master,” “Reign”), is set to debut the on Koldcast TV on August 19.
Boland plays Kristen Harvey, a twenty-one-year-old returning to Toronto from NYC to find her ex-boyfriend, Andrew (Adam Butcher, “Republic of Doyle”), has both moved on and wants nothing to do with her. But her two best friends from Toronto are similarly back home and aimless, so she regroups with Carson (Tommie-Amber Pirie, “Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays”) and Lucy (Lauren Collins, “Degrassi: The Next Generation”). Lucy’s greatest challenge is her friends-with-benefits relationship with the group’s mutual friend, Dave (Michael Seater, “Life with Derek”), but the show is structured around the three girls’ regular hangover breakfast and their ensuing attempts to provide a “long story, short” recap of the previous night’s events.
After premiering on August 19, new episodes will roll out on Koldcast TV in the US and Canada every Monday. The first season spans 11, five-minute-long episodes.
Co-creator and series director Gail Harvey (“Murdoch Mysteries,” “Lost Girl”) is Boland’s mother but also has a working history with her, including the movie “Some Things that Stay.”
The series is set and shot in Toronto, distributed by Toronto- and LA-based production company Shaftesbury, and features music from local musicians — including rap tracks from Michael Boland, Boland’s brother and Harvey’s son.Tags: Gail Harvey, Katie Boland, KoldCast, KoldCast TV, Long Story Short, Michael Boland, Shaftesbury, Toronto
