Machinima Also Gets an Emmy Nomination

/ Jul 18, 2013

Netflix was not the only online video provider to get recognition from The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today. “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn,” a live-action mini-series based on Microsoft’s mega-successful Halo franchise, garnered an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Main Title Design. The show was released on Machinima last year, and is now available on Netflix as a 90-minute movie.

It’s up against “American Horror Story: Asylum” (FX), “Da Vinci’s Demons” (Starz), “Elementary” (CBS), “The Newsroom” (HBO), and “Vikings” (History Channel).

I haven’t mentioned this any of my Emmys coverage today so here you go: the awards ceremony will air on CBS on September 22. It will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
