Machinima and Avenged Sevenfold’s New Animated Show Debuts on Dec. 15
“Hail to the King,” a new animated series from Machinima and American rock band Avenged Sevenfold, will debut on Machinima’s HappyHour channel on December 15.
As previously announced, the animated series will consist of six episodes, which Machinima will debut all at once. Directed by Joe Schnepp, a producer on Adult Swim’s “Metalocalypse,” the series will tell the story of “Death Bat,” the band’s signature logo.
“Hail to the King” is also the name of Avenged Sevenfold’s most recent album, which debuted earlier this fall in the top spot on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart. The album, which also went no. 1 in the UK, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Ireland, and Finland, sold 159,400 units in the US during its initial week, making it the biggest debut for a rock album in 2013. Music from the album is featured in the series.
“Hail to the King” — the series — will also serve as a precursor to a mobile video game, “Hail to the King: Deathbat,” which will be available in early 2014.
Machinima has released a new trailer for the web series. Check it out below:
