Machinima and Paramount Buckle Up for Action-Drama ‘Chop Shop’
Last summer, Machinima cut a deal with Paramount to distribute “Chop Shop,” an action-drama series about car thieves and street racing. That series premieres today on Machinima Prime.
“Chop Shop” centers on a former car thief named Porter, released from a five-year stint in prison. Struggling to rekindle a relationship with his former girlfriend and their five-year-old son, Porter reconnects with his old partner-in-crime, whose aggressive nature comes into conflict with his new life. Soon, Porter is forced to revisit a world he had been trying to leave behind.
The show’s cast includes John Bregar (“Kick-Ass 2”), Rene Moran (“Shameless”), Ana Ayora (“Marley & Me”), and most notably, veteran screen actor Robert Patrick (“Terminator 2: Judgment Day.”)
Produced by the Bandito Brothers (“Act of Valor”), “Chop Shop” will run for six episodes on Machinima Prime, with each 20+ minute episode being released on Friday. The series was written by Josh Baizer and Marshall Johnson, who co-wrote season two of another Machinima live-action series, “Mortal Kombat: Legacy,” and directed by Elliott Lester (“Blitz”). Joshua Weinstock produced, with Paramount Digital Entertainment handling distribution.Tags: Bandito Brothers, Chop Shop, Josh Baizer, Joshua Weinstock, Machinima, Machinima Prime, Marshall Johnson, Paramount Digital Entertainment, Robert Patrick
