Machinima to Adapt Graphic Novel ‘Enormous’ into Web Series
After having moderate success with its graphic novel-inspired web series “Tainted Love,” gaming/entertainment network Machinima is now turning to actual comics for its next original web series. Produced with Adrian Askarieh’s Prime Universe Productions, Machinima will air a 10-minute pilot for a series based around Image Comics/Shadowline graphic novel “Enormous.”
The pilot, which will revolve around the end of civilization when giant monsters roam the Earth devouring humans, will be directed by Bendavid Grabinski, who also wrote the script with Andre Ovredal (“Troll Hunter”). Production is expected to start in December.
After airing the pilot on Machinima’s YouTube channel, “Enormous” will be subsequently turned into a digital series that will stream across all of Machinima-compatible platforms like the Xbox One.
Askarieh is said to be developing the series with an eye towards brand integration. Given that desire, the production team is reportedly already in talks with Harley-Davidson who may come on as a sponsor.
