Magicflix, a New Streaming Service for Kids, Raises $500K
Kids-focused streaming service Magicflix has raised over $500,000 in its latest funding round.
Investors in the Seattle-based company include Geoff Entress and Andrew Wright, among others. The service launched recently, in November 2014, as a startup with Techstars Seattle, an incubator that offers mentorship and $118,000 in seed funding.
Magicflix is a subscription service, free of ads and “safe” for kids (because there’s no “clicking away” to adult content). Parents can use the service to create their own playlists from YouTube for their children to watch.
Magicflix’s video content partners include The Digits, Okee Dokee Brothers, Recess Monkey, and others.Tags: funding, funding round, kids, magicflix, seattle, techstars seattle
