Maker Taps Kabillion Kid Programming For ‘Cartoonium’ YouTube Channel
Kabillion, an Emmy-winning video on-demand offering that focuses on children’s programming, is putting some of its titles on Maker Studios’ Cartoonium YouTube channel. Specifically, full episodes of “Code Lyoko,” “Bobby’s World” and “Mix Master” will be available alongside kids-centric videos from YouTube veteran and Maker co-founder Shay Carl. There will also be other “original and existing” content.
The deal is part of a broader push from Kabillion to put its content on YouTube. The company says it will also ramp up its presence on the site via its self-titled YouTube channel, which will also offer full episodes of shows like “Tara Duncan,” “DaVincibles,” “Bunny Maloney” and “Pet Alien.”
This is a pretty straightforward deal. Maker gets more “premium,” television-like programming on its multichannel network. In exchange, Kabillion can put its content in front of more people. The company’s TV reach includes 40 million US households through Comcast, Time Warner, Charter, and other providers.
“We have been actively growing the Kabillion brand with over six million views on demand each month,” said Shea Fontana, director of digital media at Kabillion, in a statement. “The next step for Kabillion is to expand further into the digital world.”
This should certainly help.
