Maria Menounos’ AfterBuzz TV Signs with Collective Digital Studio
Maria Menounos’ online video-broadcast network AfterBuzz TV is now a part of the Collective Digital Studio multi-channel network.
Founded by the TV personality and producer Keven Undergaro, AfterBuzz TV is most well-known for being a destination for online “after-shows” of popular TV series. Essentially, what AMC currently does with “Walking Dead,” and previously did with “Breaking Bad” — hosted programs following a new TV episode in which the show’s cast or crew and other celebrities discuss what happened — AfterBuzz TV has sought to replicate for the entire TV landscape, producing up to 80 shows per week. Each AfterBuzz show brings in a mix of super-fans, industry professionals, and celebrities to break down the latest episode.
The format has been successful, says AfterBuzz TV, which claims 20 million downloads per week from over 150 countries.
As part of the deal with CDS, the MCN will now handle optimization, brand deals, and ad sales for AfterBuzz TV’s YouTube channel, which reaches close to 65,000 subscribers.
Additionally, CDS will also look to integrate some of its stars into AfterBuzz TV programming. Top talent signed to the MCN range from Freddie Wong and Harley Morenstein to Hannah Hart and Superwoman.
“AfterBuzz TV is THE premiere destination for TV superfans and while it is an established channel, we wanted to really grow the brand and overall viewership,” said Undergaro. “CDS’ portfolio is impressive and they’ve helped grow and expand leading channels including Epic Meal Time and Annoying Orange.”
In addition to the weekly after-shows, AfterBuzz TV also produces “Spotlight On,” a more in-depth, long-form interview series with TV stars and showrunners. This one airs live on AfterBuzz TV, and is available for download on iTunes the following day.Tags: AfterBuzz TV, CDS, Collective Digital Studio, Keven Undergaro, Maria Menounos, MCN, Talent Signing, YouTube Creators
