Mashable Hires Director of News Video
Mashable has hired Ashley Codianni to be its director of news video. In the role, she will develop video tied to news stories that resonate with its audience, and distribute them in ways that are “highly shareable and engaging,” says Mashable.
“In this era of multimedia journalism, we are able to tell stories through all shapes, sizes and characters — video is a critical part of this revolution,” said Jim Roberts, chief content officer and executive editor of Mashable, in a statement. “With Ashley’s experience and her ability to create sharable stories in short- and long-form video, she will be a huge asset, moving us deeper into the medium.”
Codianni comes to Mashable from short-form news video provider NowThis News. There she led the company’s Washington, DC bureau and oversaw its original political content. Prior to that, she was a producer for the “Today Show Weekend Edition” and a political researcher for NBC News.Tags: Ashley Codianno, Exec Moves, Mashable, mobile video, Movers, News Video, NowThis News, social video
