BroadbandTV Scores One Billion Monthly Views on YouTube

Multi-channel network BroadbandTV announced today that it has reached one billion monthly views on YouTube. With over 100 million subscribers and a roster of more than 10,000 content partners, BroadbandTV is quickly becoming a major player among the YouTube MCN landscape. In fact, among comScore’s July rankings for the top ten YouTube partner networks, BroadbandTV ranked ninth with 16 million total unique viewers in the US.

In June, BroadbandTV received a $36 million investment from leading European entertainment network RTL Group. BroadbandTV stated that the investment will be used to continue supporting the MCN’s expansion efforts.

Anchored by major networks like Fullscreen, Maker Studios, and Machinima, with dozens of smaller MCNs and soon-to-be-MCNs like Tastemade and The Pet Collective also in the game, the MCN landscape has become crowded and fiercely competitive in recent months. For BroadbandTV, staying ahead of the curve means providing their partners with proprietary technology aimed at increasing overall views and monetizing off of that viewership.

BroadbandTV provides a suite of tools that help partners detect “fan-uploaded” content that would otherwise infringe on copyrights — similar to what you see with ZEFR and a bunch of music-licensing technologies. In addition, BroadbandTV offers “proprietary technology platforms” similar to Machinima and Fullscreen dashboards that allow partners to track a variety of analytics.

“Our proprietary technology platform benefits content creators of all sizes and we have a compelling roadmap of features that we can’t wait to release to make our content creator community even more successful,” said BroadbandTV founder and CEO Shahrzad Rafati in a press release.

As an MCN, BroadbandTV consists of two brands, VISO — the general YouTube creator branch — and TGN, BroadbandTV’s video game specific network. Combined, both networks have received more than one billion monthly impressions from over 100 million subscribers.
