Nerdist Channel’s ‘Blood and Guts’ Returns For a Grizzly Third Season
Gore lovers rejoice: Season Three of Nerdist Channel’s “Blood and Guts with Scott Ian” kicks off today with Academy Award-winning makeup designer Joel Harlow. The five-part series, hosted by Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, gives a behind-the-scenes look at how some of the best and most wince-inducing practical effects are created and utilized in horror flicks.
Ian, who is a notorious horror and gore connoisseur, dives head first into each episode of “Blood and Guts,” often taking a seat in the makeup chair himself. Episode one of the new season turns the guitarist into a Lovecraftian horror at the hands of Harlow who has worked on films like “Star Trek” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Season Three will drag viewers into the creation of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights and deliver an exclusive feature with legendary makeup designer Tony Gardner (who was once investigated by the police due to the fact that his practical effects were too life-like). Future episodes will also deliver in-depth looks at the work of Vincent Guastini and Stan Winston.
The third season is produced by Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist Channel, which took full development duties from Fangoria Magazine, co-producers of Seasons One and Two. However, director and producer Jack Bennett remains onboard for season three of “Blood and Guts.”Tags: Blood and Guts with Scott Ian, chris hardwick, nerdist, web series, youtube
