Netflix Expands Dec. 13 Rollout of ‘Lilyhammer’ Season Two
Netflix will release the second season of “Lilyhammer,” its original gangster comedy-drama starring Steven Van Zandt, in more territories on December 13. When the company previously announced the season two premiere date, the show was only pegged to debut in the US, Canada, and Latin America on December 13. Netflix is now expanding that rollout to other international markets including the UK and Ireland, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The company is mum on the reason behind this change.
“Lilyhammer” tells the story of a former mob fixer (Van Zandt) who joins the federal witness protection program and moves to the small town of Lillehammer, Norway. In season two, he’ll have to deal with the perilous issue of his former bosses learning he’s still alive.
The show comes from Rubicon TV AS and co-creators Anne Bjørnstad and Eilif Skodvin. It’s produced by Rubicon TV AS and co-produced by Netflix for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation and Netflix in association with Red Arrow International. In Norway, a Netflix territory, the show airs on the NRK1 channel. “Lilyhammer” will be distributed by Red Arrow International. Executive producers include Van Zandt and Lasse Hallberg, with Trond Berg Nilsen and Agnete Thuland serving as producers.Tags: comedy, International, Netflix, Red Arrow International, Rubicon AS TV, Steven Van Zandt, The Sopranos
