Netflix Grabs Exclusive US Rights to BBC Drama ‘Happy Valley’
Netflix has secured the rights to exclusively stream the hit BBC drama “Happy Valley” in the US and Canada.
The six-part series, which will make its Netflix debut on August 20, revolves around the personal and professional life of a hard-working police-woman in a small town where drunkards, drug addicts, and teenage pregnancies are an accepted parts of life. Her world is turned upside down when the man she thinks is responsible for her daughter’s death is released from prison.
Written by BAFTA-nominated scribe Sally Wainwright, “Happy Valley” stars BAFTA winner Sarah Lancashire in the lead role. She is joined by James Norton, Steve Pemberton, Siobhan Finneran, George Costigan, and Joe Armstrong.
