Netflix Makes Original-Content Marketing Hire
Netflix has tapped The Weinstein Company;s Stephen Bruno to help lead its original content marketing efforts. Bruno joins Netflix as a vice president, after three years serving as the head of marketing for TWC, which Netflix has a pretty established relationship with.
The two companies are notably partnering on the sequel to Ang Lee’s martial-arts epic “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” as well as an upcoming historical drama based on the adventures of famed explorer Marco Polo.
In the role, Bruno will be based in LA and will report to Netflix CMO Kelly Bennett.
News of Netflix and Bruno’s interest in each other was first reported by Deadline.
