Netflix Names Prices, Show Catalog for Australia and New Zealand
There will be three different pricing tiers, the cheapest being $8.99 in Australia and $9.99 in New Zealand per month (that’s close to $7 and $7.60 in US dollars, respectively), which gets a user the streaming service on one screen in standard definition. The second tier costs AU $11.99 and NZ $12.99 per month, which allows for streaming on two screens with high definition available. The priciest option is AU $14.99 and NZ $15.99, which lets users watch on up to four screens in HD and 4K ultra HD.
This is fairly comparable to US prices, where the cheapest offering goes for $7.99 a month, and the priciest goes for a monthly $11.99.
The Netflix catalog in Australia and New Zealand will include flagship series “Orange Is the New Black” and “House of Cards,” both of which will debut new seasons in the countries as they premiere in the US. Other Netflix originals like “Marco Polo” and the newly launched “Bloodline” will be available down under, along with shows like “Downtown Abbey,” “House,” “Orphan Black,” and “Homeland.”Tags: Australia, Bloodline, house of cards, Marco Polo, Netflix, Netflix Original Series, netflix originals, new zealand, Orange Is the New Black
