Netflix Prepares to Move Down Under with Content from Beyond Distribution
The Australia-based company will provide Netflix with multiple stand-up comedy specials, including “Carl Barron: A One Ended Stick,” “Arj Barker: Harvest,” “Kitty Flanagan: Hello Kitty,” “Umbilical Brothers: The Rehearsal,” and “Jimeoin: Something Smells Funny.”
Per the deal, several kids series will also appear on the Australian Netflix, including “Lightning Point,” “H20: Just Add Water,” and “Mako: Island of Secrets” (also known as “Mako Mermaids”).
Beyond Distribution also holds the rights to the hit US series “Mythbusters,” which it’s already licensed to Netflix in other territories. It will also be available on Netflix in Australia and New Zealand as part of the launch.
