Netflix Updates Its Previously Awful Android App
For a while, Netflix’s Android app had been a mess. The mobile app was riddled with lag, confusing navigation, and a truly terrible interface. Luckily, Netflix is rolling out an updated app today that promises to correct all the mistakes of the past.
The new app features a sleeker design more in tune with Android’s overall aesthetic, as well as sharper response times. Netflix finally updated the app to feature smooth scrolling, which is sort of important when navigating on a tiny mobile screen.
Netflix has also outfitted the app with a fully functional action bar up top, and a menu button and sliding drawer on its left and right sides. But really, aside from slight design changes, the biggest upgrade to the app is simply how smoothly it runs and takes into account user navigation.
Chromecast functionality has been retooled as well, delivering a generally more user-friendly experience. It may not seem like a big deal, but for Android users who have been struggling with the Netflix app for sometime, it’s the bee’s knees.Tags: Android, app, mobile video consumption, Netflix
