New Transmedia Platform ShowMobile Launches with ‘Mobile-First’ Series

Interactive entertainment app ShowMobile launched today with an original made-for-mobile series called “HitStreak.”

Interactivity seems to be the key to the ShowMobile platform, as “HitStreak,” the company’s first original series, features social media elements from Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter all wrapped into a single app. Think of it like The Fine Brothers’ series “MyMusic,” which features story-driven social media accounts and interaction, but all inside one mobile app. The idea is to reach teenage audiences where they are right now — mobile devices.

The narrative for “HitStreak” centers on four YouTube musicians who are trying to save a music studio in the style of “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo” and every teen-based film of the 1970s and up. The series was written by veteran TV scribe Dawn DeKeyser (“Ugly Betty,” “Samantha Who”). The series will air new episodes every Wednesday on the ShowMobile app. Episodes will also appear on YouTube one week after their mobile release.

“HitStreak” has been building buzz online prior to its official launch with YouTube-published parody cover songs from the show’s cast. In pre-launch, the YouTube videos have generated over 4 million views.

Grammy-nominated producer Eric Foster White is the creator of “HitStreak” and designer of ShowMobile. You may remember White from his time touring with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Gloria Estefan. However, if you are a teen, tween, or in the age group that ShowMobile is aiming for, those aforementioned names mean nothing to you.

Although, if you are in the younger sect, you’re probably familiar with White’s writing and producing credits with insanely popular pop acts like Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys. To date, White has sold over 70 million albums as a writer / producer.

Both White and ShowMobile are repped by Paradigm Agency in LA.

According to White, ShowMobile was created in order to translate storytelling completely over to mobile platforms, creating, what White calls a “mobile-first lifestyle.”
