News Corp. Digital Exec Leaves to Join Vimeo
Vimeo has named former News Corp. digital exec Greg Clayman as its new general manager of audience networks.
“Vimeo now reaches a global audience of over 110 million monthly video viewers,” said Vimeo CEO Kerry Trainor in a statement, “and Greg’s tremendous experience across online and mobile video distribution, subscription products, and advertiser partnerships will be instrumental as we grow our business and deliver a unique experience for audience.”
Specifically, Clayman will oversee Vimeo’s growing on-demand/direct distribution business for filmmakers, as well as the areas outlined in Trainor’s statement above.
Since 2010, Clayman was EVP of digital strategy and business development for News Corp. During his time at the company, Clayman served as the publisher of The Daily, a now-defunct news publication designed exclusively for the iPad. Prior to that he was EVP of digital distribution and business development at MTV Networks, where he was responsible for Viacom’s first deals with digital distributors like Hulu and Netflix.
Clayman’s exit was first reported by Bloomberg, and confirmed by Vimeo this morning.Tags: distribution, Exec Moves, Greg Clayman, mobile video, Movers, MTV, News Corp., viacom, Vimeo
