Oprah Winfrey Network Partners with TheSkimm for New Series
Oprah.com has taken another step toward growing its digital video presence by partnering with TheSkimm, an email publication that covers and curates interesting daily news stories. A video version of the newsletter, “Things to Know,” will now appear on a weekly basis on Oprah.com and OWN’s YouTube channel.
Hosted by Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg, creators of TheSkimm, “Things to Know” episodes will appear on Oprah platforms every Wednesday, beginning October 15, and running for the following five weeks.
“This project exposes our work to younger viewers,” stated OWN’s SVP of digital, Glenn Kaino, “expanding our presence while connecting our existing audience to this fast-growing community.”
OWN adds “Things to Know” to a web series repertoire that includes “Who Am I,” which the network created in partnership with YouTube Space LA, as well as “#OWNShow.” OWN’s YouTube channel now has over 341,000 subscribers.
