PBS Digital Turns ‘Radio-Play Graphic Novel’ into YouTube Series
PBS Digital Studios has launched a new YouTube series that brings a “radio-play graphic novel” to life in video form.
“Intergalactic Nemesis” follows a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and her research assistant as they are caught up in a terrible blizzard in the Carpathian Mountains in Europe. Soon the duo discover something that is more than what they bargained for.
Described as a “radio-play graphic novel,” the graphic novel and radio play were created by Jason Neulander, and originally ran in Austin. Produced by KLRU-TV, Austin’s PBS member station, and distributed by PBS Digital Studios, the online version of the program features live sound effects, actors, and an accompanist next to panels from the graphic novel.
“Intergalactic Nemesis” will run for 17 weeks on YouTube, with new episodes premiering every Monday. Here’s the first episode:
