Pedro Pascal to Star in Netflix’s ‘Narcos’

Written by Chris Brancato and directed by Jose Padilha (“Robocop”), “Narcos” is Netflix and producer Gaumont International Television’s take on notorious Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar and the Medellin Cartel, once the most powerful and violent drug-trafficking organization in the.
Pascal will play a Mexican DEA agent sent to Colombia to capture and kill Escobar, who will be played by Brazilian superstar Wagner Moura (“Elysium”).
The series will be executive produced by Moura and Padilha, alongside Eric Newman (“Children of Men”), Chris Brancato (“Hannibal”), and the team of Doug Miro and Carlos Bernard (“Sorcerer’s Apprentice”).
Netflix has greenlit a 10-episode first season, which will premiere in 2015. It’s the second original Gaumont is producing for Netflix, after Eli Roth’s “Hemlock Grove.”
