Pluto.TV Set for a James Brown Binge
In tandem with the August 1 theatrical release of the James Brown biopic “Get On Up,” Shout Factory will make its “’I Got the Feelin’ — James Brown in the ‘60s” DVD box-set available for streaming online via Pluto.TV and YouTube.
From August 1-10, on Pluto.TV channel 117, dedicated exclusively to the legendary performer, the DVD box-set’s three discs’ worth of content will stream alongside a couple of Brown’s concerts and the documentary film “The Night James Brown Saved Boston.”
The streaming will begin on Friday at 12pm Eastern Time on Pluto.TV, which will loop the footage until Brown’s tribute ends on Sunday, August 10. Afterwards, the videos will be available to watch on YouTube and on demand.
James Brown’s video extravaganza will also include extras from the DVD, which explore his participation in the civil right’s movement and his T.A.M.I. Show.
Shout Factory is responsible for the James Brown YouTube channel, along with the James Brown Estate. The multi-platform entertainment company was founded by Richard and Garson Foos and Bob Emmer.
Pluto.TV’s online video platform includes upwards of 100 channels and runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week on any streaming device. The company says it’s able to quickly build and launch channels tied to specific themes or interests, and recently did so with channels dedicated to pro-cycling (around the Tour de France) and World Cup.Tags: get on up, i got the feelin'--james brown in the 60s, James Brown, james brown estate, pluto.tv, shout! factory, youtube
