David Neyman Hired to Spearhead PopSugar’s Video Expansion

/ Mar 5, 2014

Women’s lifestyle brand PopSugar has hired David Neyman to serve as the new head of creative partnerships and video development for PopSugar Studios, the company’s in-house studio for digital, TV, and film content.

Neyman will be responsible for creating and developing video content for all platforms via partnerships with creative, media, and entertainment companies. He will report to David Grant, president of PopSugar Studios.

“We’ve grown to be the leader in video for millennial women through internal development and production,” said Grant in a statement. “Now we are taking it to the next level by working with the great creative talent and production companies out there — many of which have already expressed interest. I’m excited to have David lead those efforts for us — I expect he’ll be very busy.”

Neyman’s hire follows a recent deal PopSugar inked with Core Media Group to develop scripted and non-scripted programming for digital and TV platforms. All content produced by PopSugar and Core, and developed by Neyman going forward, will focus on the company’s core audience of women ages 18 to 40. PopSugar says it hits more than 22 million uniques and 51 million video views per month.

Some of that content might be presented during this year’s Newfronts, which PopSugar is participating in after taking last year off.

Most recently, Neyman served as head of productions at SpinMedia, where he developed and produced branded video campaigns for clients ranging from Microsoft to Kia.
