Regal Cinemas Rolls Out Branded Web Series Starring Only Vine Celebrities
Regal Cinemas and digital agency Something Massive are teaming up with some of the biggest names on Twitter’s video platform Vine. (Look, I didn’t know Vine had “big names” either, but here we are.)
“Date Night Fails,” a new branded series starring exclusively Vine celebrities, presents the many ills that can befall people who stay in and watch movies instead of going to a theater. Again, I’d like to remind you that “Date Night Fails” is presented by Regal Cinemas.
The series stars Vine aficionado Jason Nash as our bumbling protagonist, as well as additional famous contributors to Twitter’s six-second video platform. The Vine celebrities (let’s call them Viners) will also be creating cross-platform videos to support and promote the campaign.
“Date Night Fails” was produced by The Massive Micro Studio, which is Something Massive’s in-house branded content branch. Something Massive has a long history working digitally with brands, including Redbull, FOX, and Warner Bros.
You can check out the first episode of “Date Night Fails” below. Go to the movies already, you know that $20 popcorn is calling.
The original version of this article referred to Vine as Twitter’s 15-second video platform. Vine videos are no longer than six seconds. Instagram’s video offering, which is considered to be Vine’s closest competitor, allows users to shoot up to 15 seconds of video.
