Electus Sends ‘Road to Total Slaughter’ Rap-Battle Series to Fuse
WatchLoud.com’s new rap battle series, “Road to Total Slaughter,” is making its way to TV this Wednesday, June 18. Picked up by Fuse, the co-production from Eminem’s Shady Films and the Electus-owned hip-hop website will air at midnight tomorrow, with uncensored versions of each episode premiering afterwards on WatchLoud.com.
The four-episode reality show will include eight competitors battling for the chance to perform at the debut main event for Total Slaughter, a new rap-battle league showcase that will launch this summer. The eight top MCs include Arsonal from Newark, Aye Verb from St. Louis, Bit T from Chicago, Cortez from Brooklyn, Daylyt from Watts, California, Dizaster from LA, Marv Won from Detroit, and Math Hoffa, also from Brooklyn.
Rap legends Loaded Lux and Murda Mook will guide the competitors as the show progresses towards the final, high-stakes battle, which will be judged by Shady Records’ Slaughterhouse. Slaughterhouse will also host Total Slaughter at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on July 12, where the winner will perform, for which tickets are currently on sale.
Fuse, a national music network, covers other live events and concerts such as South by Southwest, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza. Executive director of development at Electus, Montrel McKay, noted in a statement: “This partnership with Fuse provides an invaluable platform to bring the culture and sport of battle rap to a wider audience…it’s exciting to have a partner who’s willing to take an unfiltered and authentic look into this world.”
