Sawyer Hartman Self-Funds to Kick-Start Horror Series
YouTuber Sawyer Hartman is planning an ambitious, three-season horror anthology project, which he will self-fund.
The series, which as yet has no name, will span six episodes in season one, each of which will run for 20 minutes. Episodes will come out individually, but once they’re all on Hartman’s YouTube channel, he’ll put them together to create a feature film.
Season one of the horror anthology, which is already in pre-production, will take place on a farm. Hartman is targeting a budget of about $150,000 for the six episodes.
Currently, Hartman’s seeking out production partners and hoping to create something that will inspire funding from outside sources for seasons two and three, which would ideally take place in a hotel and hospital, respectively. On YouTube, the filmmaker has over 1.7 million subscribers to a channel that hosts short films and the video series, “Thru My Eyes.”
