Scott Glenn Will Mentor Daredevil in Upcoming Netflix Series
Marvel has cast Scott Glenn in its upcoming “Daredevil” TV series for Netflix. The veteran actor will play the role of Stick, a mysterious martial artist who serves as a mentor for the titular blind superhero.
Glenn’s credits include, most recently, HBO’s “The Leftovers,” as well as blockbuster films like “Silence of the Lambs,” “The Bourne Ultimatum,” and “The Hunt for Red October.”
He joins a growing cast that also features Charlie Cox as Daredevil and his lawyer alter ego, Vincent D’Onofrio as his nemesis Wilson Fisk, Rosario Dawson in a yet-unspecified role, and Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson.
Ordered by Netflix as part of a multi-series campaign that feeds into the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Daredevil” will run for 13 hour-long episodes, and will debut sometime in 2015. The story will center on blind lawyer Matt Murdock, who lost his sight as a young boy but was imbued with extraordinary senses, fighting injustice by day and night in Hell’s Kitchen.
The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix. Executive producers include Loeb, showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (“Spartacus”), and Drew Goddard (“Cabin in the Woods”), who also wrote the first two episodes.
