DCNF: Scripps’ ulive Adds MSN, Yahoo to Distribution Network
Scripps Networks Interactive plans to roll out 50 returning and new series for ulive, its online lifestyle video portal.
A fuller, but not complete, list of shows is listed below for your pleasure. They will be available on ulive in the coming year.
The shows will be available elsewhere on the internet, as well. ulive has inked a distribution pact with MSN and Yahoo to bring its lifestyle content to those companies’ video platforms. MSN and Yahoo join more than 100 other content/distribution partners in the ulive Lifestyle Network, including niche sites such as BlogHer and Zillow.
“We’ve spent the last year building the ulive Lifestyle Network and have chosen powerful partners to create the quality scale our advertisers need to amplify their brands,” said Jeff Meyer, president of ulive, in a statement.
NEW SERIES INCLUDE:
“Food for Dudes” – There are three things that HGTV’s Cousins, Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri, love: Design, travel and food. When they are not designing or traveling, you’ll find the Cousins at home, or with their family, concocting some killer meals. While tastes vary, their skills are decent, and the Cousins are all about making accessible and delicious food. Watch them as they whip up their own version of food for dudes.
“The Lo Down” (working title) – Lo Bosworth lives for style in every aspect of her life: Food, fashion, beauty, décor, you name it. In her first original series on ulive, Lo integrates her signature style into those everyday life occasions – birthdays, holidays, or just grabbing a drink with a friend. Each episode follows her as she pulls together a unique look, dish, and ambiance to fit the mood for one real life event.
“Landfill Dogs” (working title) – Photographer Shannon Johnstone is on a mission to showcase the beautiful souls of the most overlooked dogs. In this series, she uses her talents and the power of Facebook to give shelter dogs a real shot at finding a new home. Each episode profiles one dog and its journey.
“Out of the Way” – Whenever he has a free moment in his hectic schedule, Anthony Carrino heads out on his motorcycle with one goal in mind: To find something unique. Whether it’s a person, place or an object, Anthony is going out of the way to meet, experience, or find something the rest of us haven’t even heard of.
“Like A Vegan” – Vegan chef Ayinde Howell has never tasted a morsel of meat in his life. Think he’s missing out? Think again. In this series, Ayinde whips up his own vegan spin on carnivore classics. Who needs ground beef for a burger? Ayinde will create one with tofu that tastes just as good and is completely vegan. To put these dishes to the test, he’ll be joined by some omnivore guests in each episode.
“How Not to Kill Your Kids” – Travel Channel’s Bert Kreischer, with the help of his two daughters, fuses comedy with common sense to show you how NOT to kill your kids. From diffusing potential dangers at home to keeping his little ones active by playing his favorite childhood games, Bert gives us a peek at his own unique and humorous spin on fatherhood.
“The Girls with Glasses: Way to Wear” – The quest for good style is a minefield. Who has the time to jump on every trend, dodge every faux pas, and still make it out the door on time? Thankfully, The Girls With Glasses, Brooke and Summer, are here to serve as your style compass and take the guesswork out of dress-work. The girls provide clever tips for styling yourself and the rest of the family.
“Lunch Lady” – YouTube food star Hilah Johnson has you covered for lunch. In this series she’ll share easy, healthy midday recipes that can be packed for school or work, as well as a few to make on lazy weekends at home. Never again will your kid (or your spouse) throw their lunch in the trash!
“5 Things with Anne Sage” – Anne Sage from the wildly popular lifestyle blog The City Sage finds ingenious was to upcycle items from her closet that she never wears but can’t part with. Last season’s fashion just got a whole new lease on life.
