Seed & Spark Will Distribute Indie Films on iTunes
Indie film crowdfunding platform Seed & Spark will start distributing films through iTunes.
Since this is a new strategy for Seed & Spark, the platform has picked just a few films to kick off the distribution program with (though it has yet to specify which). Eventually, the plan is to get all films that successfully get funding on Seed & Spark to distribute on iTunes.
“The idea all along has been to get filmmakers thinking about distribution during development,” explained Emily Best, founder and CEO of Seed & Spark in a statement. “That way they’re better positioned to deliver their film to wide audiences and make their money back.”
Seed & Spark has distributed in the past via Amex Now, American Express’s connected TV app, through a joint program with the credit company. Currently, the crowdfunding platform is working to empower VR film creators by offering grants with Wemo, a VR tech company.Tags: crowdfunding, distribution, iTunes, Seed & Spark, seed&spark
