SnagFilms to Debut New Comedy Portal: Thundershorts
SnagFilms is launching a digital comedy hub called Thundershorts set to debut on June 26. The website will start off with seven series, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and eventually become the go-to digital spot for SnagFilm’s short-form comedy content.
Michael Pielock, managing editor at SnagFilms, will head the new website. Viewers will also be able to watch Thundershorts’ shows on its YouTube channel and through the SnagFilms app.
Of the seven upcoming shows, four are SnagFilms originals that will roll out fresh episodes on a weekly basis. These shows include:
- “American Viral,” which features Janeane Garofalo and centers on a ruthless father figure as he leads a dysfunctional family by exploiting the people around him
- “Teachers Lounge,” which follows a music teacher and janitor at a New York elementary school
- “Gabe & Max Need Help,” which follows comedians Gabe Delahaye and Max Silvestri to couples counseling
- “Don’t Walk,” a sitcom-style show that takes place as people wait to cross the streets of New York
The other three series come exclusively to SnagFilms from outside sources. They are called “Timeless Seasons,” “Augie Alone,” and “Loo Makes It Big.” Every episode of these shows’ first seasons will be available on June 26 with Thundershorts’ launch.Tags: comedy, new web series, original web series, Short-form, snagfilms, thundershorts
