Sony’s FIFA Song Contest Culminates in Hour-Long Special on Crackle
On April 21, Crackle will exclusively premiere an hour-long documentary special about the making of a song for the official album of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
“SuperSong” will follow singer Ricky Martin, music producer Salaam Remi, and songwriter Elijah King as they record “Vida.” The song won the SuperSong contest, which was launched by a group that included Sony, Martin, and several companies across the Sony Group, including Sony Music Entertainment.
Next week, it will be available on Crackle, another property under the Sony portfolio (synergy!).
“SuperSong” is produced by Embassy Row for Sony Pictures Television Networks. Embassy Row is also behind Jerry Seinfeld’s acclaimed comedy series on Crackle, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” Embassy Row, like Crackle, is also owned by Sony Pictures Television, which acquired the production company in 2009.
Following the “SuperSong” world premiere, the song and its accompanying music video will be available for download on iTunes.Tags: Crackle, Documentary, Embassy Row, FIFA, music, Ricky Martin, sony, Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Pictures Television, supersong, World Cup 2014
