Toy Company Spin Master Teams with Mondo Media to Launch YouTube Channel
Toy brand Spin Master has partnered with Mondo Media to launch a new animation channel on YouTube. Aimed at kids between the ages of 6 and 11, the channel, called SpindoTV, will be the home for animated and live-action series based on popular toy lines from the manufacturer.
Sick Bricks, a toy-game hybrid, will be one of the first products to receive a series on SpindoTV. Launching alongside the channel (and also airing on Cartoon Network), the animated series is written by Ray Delaurentis, a writer on Nickelodeon’s hit toon “The Fairly OddParents.”
The channel launch comes on the heels of the YouTube Kids, a mobile video app focused on family-friendly animated and live-action programming. “There are a number of SpindoTV episodes that will sit comfortably on the new YouTube Kids app but several of our shows will appeal to a slightly older-skewing demographic,” said Jennifer Dodge, VP and executive producer for Spin Master Entertainment.
Mondo Media is currently accepting pitches from producers interested in creating programming for the channel. The company, which runs an animation MCN on YouTube, is best known for series such as “Happy Tree Friends” and “Dick Figures.”Tags: Animation, branded content, MCN, Mondo Media, spin master, Spin Master Entertainment
