‘Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist’ Locks International Distribution Deals
“Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist,” a live-action web series based on Capcom’s classic video-game franchise, has found second-window distribution overseas.
In Australia and New Zealand, Madman Entertainment has grabbed the rights to distribute the 12-episode series, which premiered on Machinima in May, as a feature-length film for home video and digital. The repackaged version will be 143 minutes long, featuring an additional 13 minutes of bonus footage not seen in the web series, as well as various behind-the-scenes clips, other deleted scenes, and interviews with the cast and crew.
In addition to Madman, Funimation will oversee distribution in the US and Canada, while Manga Entertainment handles the UK market, according to Madman.
Since premiering on May 23, “Street Fighter” has been a hit for Machinima, Capcom, and creator Joey Ansah, according to video analytics and marketing company Tubular Labs.
